THE QUAYS is hosting gigs by some of Galway and Ireland's most popular covers bands this weekend, and the venue is also running an offer of free entry to gigs on Fridays and Sundays.
Gorilla Radio on Friday January 13. The band have a wide and varied repertoire, with something for all tastes, as their setlist includes songs by AC/DC, The Beatles, Paolo Nutini, Elvis, Robbie Williams, Queen, Tina Tiurner, and Adele. They have also played the Ballina Music Festival along with The Hothouse Flowers and Sharon Shannon.
Dublin's Big Digger play on Saturday. The quintet play a selection of contemporary and classic hits, with a chief focus on songs from the 1980s and 1990s.
One of Galway's longest running and most popular bands, Weightless Astronauts, play on Sunday. Expect to hear songs by The Killers, The Kings of Leon, Culture Club, Journey, Black Eyed Peas, The Doobie Brothers, The Divine Comedy, and The Violent Femmes.
The Quays is also running an offer of free entry to gigs throughout January, for two people, before midnight on Fridays and Sundays. To avail of the offer see The Quays advert in this week's edition of the Galway Advertiser, cut it out, and present it at the door.
