The Galway Pet Store will celebrate 21 years this weekend with a day of special offers and gifts for customers.
Paddy and Mary Meaney opened their popular Quay Street pet shop on February 28 1988 at a time when the country was in the grip of a recession. The pet store proved a hit with Galway shoppers and still serves the needs of the city’s pet owners with a range of foods and accessories for fish, birds, cats, dogs, and small mammals, as well as a selection of cold water and tropical fish.
On Saturday the owners and staff of the Galway Pet Store will say ‘thank you’ to the customers who have made the business a success with a 10 per cent reduction on everything in store throughout the day. Galway Pet Store staff Rian and Catriona will also have a present for every customer on the day.
