The fourth Oughterard Youth Arts Festival takes place tomorrow, Saturday, and Sunday with exhibitions, workshops, performances, and the launch of a new music video.
Workshops for children and teenagers include hip hop dance, mask making, pottery, DJ workshops, story-painting, creative writing, poetry, storytelling, photography, fashion, and puppetry. A full line up of classes can be seen at www.oyaf.clannresourcecentre.com
Other highlights include a Friday evening launch at The Boat Inn featuring performances by Firepoint Dance Troupe, Spraoi Circus Troupe, and hip-hop and rap from Youthwork Ireland, as well as original music from The Beat Club.
The festival will also see the creation of a music video by young people in the area, a ‘mutant car’ sculpture, and an exhibition of recycled art created by the students at Collinamuck School. The Cinemobile will be at the festival all weekend.
The concluding event is the fashion show at 3.30pm in the Connemara Gateway Hotel.
