Ryan’s fashion show celebrates centenary in business

People can learn more about the hottest looks on the catwalk for spring when Anthony Ryan’s annual fashion show takes place at The Ardilaun on Monday March 9 at 8.30pm.

The proceeds from the event will be donated to the Galway branch of Down Syndrome Ireland, Voices for Galway speech therapy project. It provides speech therapy to children and adults with Down Syndrome in the city and county.

This is the 50th continuous year of the fashion show which is one of Ireland’s longest running shows. Set up to celebrate the shop’s 50th year in business it is widely hailed as one of the country’s top fashion events. This year is particularly special for Anthony Ryan’s because it celebrates 100 years in business.

The evening will showcase the key looks for spring/summer 2009. Labels such as Toypes, Lipsy, Rinascimento, Peruzzi, Esprit, Pink Label by Gina Bacconi, Kali O’Rea and Eva Kayan will be among the stylish collections to be modelled on the night. These collections mark the start of a new season introducing major trends seen on the catwalks of leading fashion cities. Shoes will be supplied by Premoli and hair will be styled by Barry’s Hair Studio, Shop Street.

The show promises to be a great night with a pre-fashion show drinks reception, live entertainment including the Regina Rogers School of Ballet and Galway’s Performing Arts Group together with a few surprise faces. There will also be a raffle and free handouts for those attending.

Tickets are available from the Galway branch of Down Syndrome Ireland committee and are also on sale at Anthony Ryan’s main store on Shop Street.
