Take up singing with the Ad Hoc choir

Classes for beginners and experienced start this month

MANY PEOPLE would love to sing, but maybe do not have the confidence. Others would love to sing as part of a choir, but have no experience or do not know where to start.

The good news is help is at hand with a new series of workshops from the Ad Hoc choir, run by voice facilitator Kate Duignan. The workshops allow participants to explore their own abilities through group singing, vocal exercises, and improvisation. Workshops are aimed at all levels and abilities.

The new term of classes takes place in the GTI, Fr Griffin Road, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, starting 7pm. Monday and Wednesday are for beginners. Tuesday is for those with some experience. There are also classes on Thursdays, also at 7pm, in the Galway Arts Centre, Dominick Street.

Those interested in getting an idea of what it is all like can go to the introductory class this Saturday [January 7] from 11.30pm to 1.30pm in the Galway Arts Centre for €5.
