Connacht women host Ulster

The final Women's Interprovincial between Connacht and Ulster takes place this Saturday at Corinthian Park (10am ).

Connacht are still in contention to win the series, but need a victory, having lost away to defending champions Munster last weekend by 12-8.

However their 8-5 win over Leinster, and last weekend's losing bonus point could prove invaluable as they sit just a point behind Leinster with six points. Munster, favourites to retain the title, are on eight points, while Saturday's opponents are without a win, but with two losing bonus points.

Connacht are captained by Emma Clery of Galwegians, and are boosted with internationals in Mary Healy, Allison Miller, Nicole Fowley, and Maired Coyne.

Connacht Senior Cup Final

Corinthians and Buccaneers will contest this year's Connacht Senior Cup final on January 7.

Corinthians booked their place with an impressive 46-19 win over Galwegians on Friday night in Corinthian Park, while Buccaneers hammered Sligo 93-5.

Corinthians took control from the start, and tries from Sean Masterson (2 ), Dylan Donnellan, Dave McDermott, and Lise Soloa, converted by Simon Keller, had the home side 32-5 up early in the second half.

Galwegians, missing several key players on Eagles' duty, were rewarded with a try and conversion, but Soloa touched down for try number five. Although Wegians added another try and conversion, Corinthians had the final say when Conor O’Donovan finished the scoring spree.
