THEY LIKE "Katy Perry as much as The Beatles", have played Longitude, Glastonbury, and T in the Park, and have notched up more than six million views - and counting - on YouTube.
They are Hudson Taylor, the Irish indie folk-pop duo of brothers Harry and Alfie Hudson-Taylor, and they play the Róisín Dubh on Tuesday December 27 at 8pm.
They released their debut EP, Battles, in 12, which reached No 1 on the Irish iTunes chart and No 14 in Britain. A second EP, Cinematic Lifestyle, came out later that year, followed in 2013 by the Osea EP. Their debut album, Singing For Strangers, a reference to their busking days, and which included the single 'Chasing Rubies', came out in 2015, hitting No 3 in Ireland and No 24 in Britain.
An acoustic version of ‘Chasing Rubies’ has been streamed more than one million times on Spotify, while ‘Battles’ made Zane Lowe's Hottest Record spot on his In New Music We Trust BBC radio show. They have also played London’s Electric Ballroom and supported Jake Bugg.
