CAHERLISTRANE'S KEANE Family - Matt, Sean, Noel and Pat - bring their annual Christmas Time Concerts to The Claregalway Hotel on Friday January 6 and Saturday 7 at 8pm.
These concerts are among the rare occasions when the four brothers perform together. However three of the brothers released new albums during 2016 - Matt’s The Rising of the Moon, Pat’s Songs I Like to Sing, and Sean’s New Day Dawning.
They will be joined at the shows by Orlaith Keane, singing songs from her album The Home Place; Laura Keane, the latest member of the Keane family to take to the stage; Pat Coyne (guitars/vocals ), Colm Naughton (banjo/mandolin/guitar ), Maria Fahy (fiddle ), Catherine McHugh (keyboards ), and Aine McHugh (concertina, fiddle ).
Special guest is Galway folk singer-songwriter Don Stiffe. His new single, 'You’ll Always be My Mother' highlights the plight of adopted people in their quest to find their birth family. His new album is out in spring 2017.
Also performing are The Hernon Family from Carna, Connemara, with renowned flute player, composer, and performer Marcus Hernon. He will be joined by his sons Proinsias (accordion ) and Breandán (fiddle ), who are also sean nós dancers; and his nephew Labhrás (keyboard/piano ).
