A FEAST of Christmas choral concerts will take place in Galay over the coming days, featuring many of Galway city and county's leading choirs - The Kiltullagh Community Choir, Coole Harmonies, and Cois Cladaigh.

The Kiltullagh Community Choir will perform a charity concert of gospel and contemporary song, along with some Christmas favourites, in St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church, tomorrow from 8pm.

The 30-strong choir will be accompanied by a keyboardist, guitarist, and drummer. The concert is organised by St Joseph’s Special School Parents’ Association and all proceeds will go to the school on Thomas Hynes Rd, Newcastle. This is the fourth year the Kiltullagh Choir have given their services free to raise funds for St Joseph’s.

Admission is €10. There will be a raffle for some exceptional prizes at the interval.

Coole Harmonies, the choir of young singers from south Galway, will give their annual performance celebrating the Swedish Santa Lucia custom of bringing light into the darkness.

The choir will perform in St Nicholas Collegiate Church, on Sunday December 11 at 6.30pm. The choir is part of the Coole Music & Arts Ltd, a not-for-profit music education organisation, dedicated to supportive and creative music-making.

Admission is free, with donations accepted at the door which will go towards the Galway youth mental health charity JIGSAW. All are welcome.

Cois Cladaigh will present its annual Christmas concert in St Nicholas Collegiate Church, in aid of Enable Ireland, on Saturday December 17 at 8pm.

The concert, entitled In the Bleak Mid Winter, will include an eclectic mix of Christmas music by contemporary composers, including Philip Stopford, former Oxford Organ Scholar; Scottish composer James McMillan; and English composer William Todd.
