Love Moycullen — village launches novel Christmas campaign

Love Moycullen, the community and business group in Moycullen are launching their Christmas 2016 campaign with the message: ‘Moycullen, We’re closer than you think’. With over 40 retailers and service providers, Moycullen is getting ready to spend locally this Christmas and wants to encourage the people of Galway to do the same.

Their hassle-free Christmas shopping campaign will kick off on Thursday December 8 at 3pm with Arcana, the global events specialists behind Galway International Arts Festival, running an outdoor children’s entertainment event as well as a feast for the visual senses from 3pm – 5pm on the green at An Fuarán which has been kindly supported by SSE & Coillte. Santa will officiate the turning on of the village Christmas lights along with a recital from local school girl soprano Aimee Banks who will be accompanied by the local children’s choir.

The unveiling of the Village Crib will also take place on the evening and then follow a trail around the village to savour food delights, sip mulled wine and avail of discount shopping and then relax and enjoy musical entertainment in the local pubs.

After two years of traffic delays due to road works, Moycullen is finally ready to welcome back our customers from Galway City, Knocknacarra and Salthill who may have been put off visiting during that period. They are delighted to show off the beautiful new entrance to the village which is a mere seven minute drive from Newcastle.

“Free parking throughout the village as well as the fantastic service provided by our businesses should make Moycullen the must visit destination when shopping this Christmas - avoiding the hustle and bustle of the city.

“We have worked so hard to make sure our Village has everything to offer with over 40 shops now here, I think Moycullen is a great place to come to shop, dine out, have a quiet drink and of course pamper yourself. This event is a celebration and a thank you to everyone who supports our village,” explained Valerie Osborne and Ann Dunne local business owners.

Stores will be open late on Dec 8 and are offering special discounts, individual in-house events and live entertainment. Visit the ‘Love Moycullen’ Facebook page which will host the schedule of all events and discounts available on the day. There will be a food, fashion, and shoppers trails so that no location or Christmas bargain is missed.
