An Taibhdhearc na Gaillimhe's Christmas show

THE STORIES of Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen, will be told as Gaeilge in a new musical, Hans Christian agus a Chairde, An Taibhdhearc na Gaillimhe's Christmas show.

Written by Mary McCarthy, a teacher from Gaelscoil Mhic Amhlaigh, the show draws on classic stories like 'Thumbelina', 'The Emperor’s New Clothes', 'The Ugly Duckling', and 'The Little Mermaid'. It stars Daithí O’Donnell as Hans, along with Gemma Brook, Irish dancers from the Hession School of Irish Dance, and ballerinas from Youth Ballet West. It is directed by Anne McCabe. The musical director is Matthew Berrill.

Performances on December 13 to 16 at 11.30am are for school groups. Performances for the public are Friday December 16 (7.30pm ), Saturday 17 (3pm, 7.30pm ), Sunday 18 (3pm ), Tuesday 20 (7.30pm ), and Wednesday 21 93pm ).
