THERE WAS The Man From UNCLE, the man from Del Monte, The Man Who Knew Too Much, and The Man Who Fell To Earth, but there has never been anyone like The Man From Moogaga.
The Man From Moogaga, Aindrias de Staic's one-man comedy show about Gaelic football, music, and finding your place in the world, will have three lunchtime performances in The Ruby Room, The King's Head, High Street, on Thursday November 24, Friday 25, and Saturday 26.
The show is about a musician who yearns to be on the parish football team, but who is rejected, and goes travelling. Upon his return the team have reached the club final, and a man short, they call on him to help them win the cup. Aindrias will perform the show using a fiddle, a loop pedal, and his talents as an actor, musician, and comedian.
Previous performances have won rave reviews. London's Theatre Guide said, "rarely has storytelling been so foot-tappingly funny"; State.ie said: "The performance is half seanchaí, half shaman, half Fiddler of Dooney with a whallop of Flann O’Brien thrown into the mix".
Doors are at 12.30pm. Show at 1pm. Tickets are €8 on the door. Early arrival is advised.
