Rofi James - new single and launch gig

Band's new single to raise funds for refugee camp in Greece

ROFI JAMES, the Galway pop/rock duo, officially launch their new single 'Fool For Your Love' this weekend, and proceeds from half of all downloads/sales of the single will be donated to the Solidarity-Pikpa refugee camp in Greece.

The band - Rónán Flaithearta and Jamie Murray - the NUIG Witless 2012 winners and iRadio iRocks 2013 champions, who have supported Picture This, Hermitage Green, and Ham Sandwhich, close 2016 with this new single, described as "incredibly catchy" by Joe.ie

It is accompanied by a video shot over six days at the Elliniko Refugee Camp, Athens, and two camps on Lesbos - the Moria Detention Centre and Lesbos Pikpa Solidarity Camp, the latter being main camp where most refugees who arrive on the island stay first.

The video tells the story of some of the 60,000 refugees stuck in legal limbo, and the conditions they live in,. It was directed and produced by The Reelists. "The video aims to give a glimpse into the lives of those directly affected by the current refugee crisis," says Jamie. "The band felt it was a very worthy cause and agreed to help The Reelists highlight this important issue. Pikpa provides shelter to some of the most vulnerable: disabled, sick, and pregnant families of shipwrecks. The song is about struggle and fighting for something you care for deeply, something these people are doing on a daily basis."

Rofi James launch 'Fool For Your Love' in The Loft, Seven, Bridge Street, this Saturday at 9pm with support from Padraig Jack and Tuan Molloy. Admission is €5. 'Fool For Your Love' is available on iTunes, Spotify, Tidal, Deezer, Apple Music, and Amazon. See www.rofijames.com
