HE HAS played roles in National Treasure, Game Of Thrones, Blackadder, and Notting Hill, and now British actor Tim McInnerny is coming to Galway to take part in a show about the complex relationship of Brahms with Clara and Robert Schumann.
Beloved Clara in the Aula Maxima, NUI Galway, on Wednesday February 1 at 8pm, will feature McInnerney, along with fellow actor Derbhle Crotty and pianist Lucy Parham - who devised the show.
The relationship between Brahms and the Schumanns has long fascinated music lovers and historians. The show, described as "a lovely entertainment – flawlessly performed" by The Independent, will feature performances by Parham of music by the three composers, along with Crotty and McInnerny reading from their extensive correspondence and diary entries.
The show originally premiered in the Wigmore Hall Masters Series in 2002 and has since enjoyed more than 100 performances across Britain, the USA, Europe, and Australia.
