Corinthians too strong for Malone

At Corinthian Park, the home side produced a dominant display to overcome Malone by 46-3 in the Ulster Bank League's division 2A.

Corinthian produced some moments of brilliance throughout the 80 minutes after opening their account when Lise Soloa drove over after just three minutes.

Malone hit back with a penalty, which was to be their only score of the match, before flanker Pat O’Toole collected a cross-field kick and shook off two defenders to score a wonderful try. Jack Feeney added the conversion and a penalty for a 15-3 lead at the break.

Corinthians continued where they left off, and two Feeney penalties extended the advantage before Colin Joyce grabbed try number two. A Feeney drop goal maintained the home side's momentum before Dave Panter made sure of full points with a brilliant try moments later, scoring from an lovely intercept.

This was an important win for Corinthians who now have moved up to sixth in the table. Next up is a tricky away game with Nenagh ( 2.30pm ).
