A SELECTION is the title of a new exhibition by the County Tyrone born, Clare based artist and singer-songwriter Jim McKee, featuring works ranging from landscapes to the 1916 Rising.
The landscapes are depictions of the west of Ireland, there are also still life pieces, and there are also portraits of some of those involved in the Easter Rising, including Thomas Clarke and Countess Markievicz. The exhibition was recently showcased in Clifden as part of the town's arts festival, and was also shown in Lens and Grenay in France.
“This is a truly wonderful exhibition," said Siobhan Arkins of Ballybane Library. "The landscapes and portraits are vibrant and pulsate with life and Jim's style is unique and as lyrical as his music. This is an exhibition not to be missed.”
The library is located on the Castlepark Road. The exhibition runs throughout November. See www.jimmckeeart.com
