Country and Irish legends to play Salthill

Big Tom and Margo to headline Salthill Hotel concerts

BIG TOM and Margo O’Donnell, two of the major names in Irish country music, top the bill at the annual Michael Commins Concert Shows in the Salthill Hotel, on Sunday November 13 and Monday 14.

This will be Margo’s first time to perform at this show, headlining the Sunday night concert. However she is no stranger to Galway, often playing here over the years and lived in the county for a time. Also on the bill for Sunday are Joe Moore (Merle Haggard tribute ), Tony Kerr, Marc Roberts, Pat Ely, Annmarie O’Riordan, Kevin Prendergast, John Kelly, Mary Prendergast, Connemara's Matthew O’Donnell, Caherlistrane's Pat Keane, and Dan and Mary Sheerin.

Big Tom, winner of the inaugural RTE ICMA Country Music Hall of Fame Award, headlines Monday night. Also playing are John Glenn, Dermot Hegarty, Sam O’Doherty, Pat McKenna, Tony Stevens, Art Supple, Matt Keane, Nan Tom, and Catriona Canavan, Art Supple, Valerie Seale, Kay Carey and Tomas Langan.

Tyrone's Gene Stuart, who died last February, will be remembered on both nights. There will be sessions in the bar from 3pm to 5.30pm on both days, and music and dancing in the lounge after the concerts, with Mick Mulhern and Friends.
