Six Galway artists are set to be showcased in front of over 15,000 people at Ireland’s premier art show Art Source, which will be held at the RDS in Dublin from November 11-13.
The much-sought after art from Liam and Ronan Butler, Lorraine Fletcher, Adrienne Finnerty, Jin Yong and Anne Merrins will be on display at the year’s biggest art fair.
Liam Butler is a completely self-taught sculptor living and working in West of Ireland.
He specialises in using recycled copper to create beautiful and unique pieces inspired by the nature, people and traditions around him.
Adrienne Finnerty is an abstract painter who works from her home in Barna, Co. Galway, while Anne Merrins’ work reflects the ‘stark Irishness’ and people of Connemara.
Lorraine Fletcher paints vivid, uplifting images, drawing inspiration from nature, animals and positive life quotes we see and hear every day.
Jin Yong’s striking works range from animal portraits to Bob Marley and Mother Theresa and have garnered much praise. His owl and tiger portraits are a must-have.
There is an opportunity for visitors to the show to own a piece of original artwork in Art Source’s unique 100 for €100 project, with pieces available on a first-come first-served basis.
Art Source features over 120 contemporary artists and 30 Irish and international galleries gathering together to showcase painting, sculpture, photography, illustration, prints and ceramic art.
From cutting edge contemporary art, realism and portraiture, to abstract art and landscapes, Art Source 2016 will showcase it all in one place and give visitors a fantastic opportunity to meet the artists and to buy directly from them for three exciting days in November.
“Art Source offers visitors the opportunity to purchase a one-off affordable artwork to make their home unique and also the opportunity to meet the artists and hear about their work,” said show organiser Patrick O’Sullivan.
There is a huge emphasis on visitor involvement at Art Source, and this year the show features an amazing interactive animation exhibition, hosted by twice Academy Award and BAFTA-nominated Cartoon Saloon.
On Saturday and Sunday, Cartoon Saloon will be hosting the Shapeshifters workshops for 8-12 year olds. These free classes can be booked at the show.
Art Source also features a themed free Art Explorers workshop for children up to seven years old.
Art Source takes place at the RDS, Dublin, from November 11-13, admission is €10 adults, €8 OAPs. Children under 16 free only if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
