Fianna Fáil parliamentary party to meet in Galway next month

Fianna Fáil’s TDs and senators will descend on Galway next month when the party holds it annual parliamentary party meeting in the city.

The meeting will see Fianna Fáil’s 106 Dáil deputies and senators get together in the city’s Clayton Hotel on September 15 and 16 for their yearly brainstorming session.

The meeting marks An Taoiseach Brian Cowen’s first as head of the party, and issues such as the economy, health, and the defeat of the Lisbon Treaty referendum are expected to be high on the agenda at the event.

The event will also focus on next year’s local elections, where the party hopes to regain some of the seats lost in the 2004 council seats cull.

The Fianna Fáil parliamentary party comprises 77 TDs and 29 senators.
