Irish Comedian of the Year grand final line-up

Vodafone Comedy Carnival Galway to host inaugural final of major new irish comedy event

THE VODAFONE Comedy Carnival is already underway and this year sees a number of innovations such as Bob’s BlundaBus - a double decker bus parked in Eyre Square, hosting affordable shows for adults and children, including stand-up, gameshows hipster bingo, and podcasts.

Most significantly, the organisers have inaugurated the Irish Comedian of the Year competition, the grand final of which will be held in the Town Hall Theatre this evening [Thursday October 27] at 8pm. More than 200 comedians have battled it out and 10 very funny individuals remain standing. The winner will walk away the title Irish Comedian Of The Year, €2,000 in cash, and a trip to Australia to perform at the Fringe Festivals in Perth and Adelaide.

The 10 finalists are Stephen Ryan, Steve Bennett, Aindrias De Staic, Aideen McQueen, Richard Ronaldson, Ryan Cullen, Peter Flanagan, Jim Elliott, Emmanuel Idama, and Donal Vaughan. This show is hosted by Andrew Stanley.
