PETER VON TOY, the singer-guitarist who plays "rock drenched blues tinted folk", and Galway based guitar wizard Tom Portman, will play a number of dates around Galway city and county.
The pair play Mullarkeys Bar, Clifden, on Saturday October 15 at 10pm; The Music Room, Craughwell, Sunday 16 at 8pm; and the Róisín Dubh on Monday 17 at 9pm.
Von Toy is a curiosity. In a deliberate attempt to go back to something organic in an industry of recorded music available on tap through streaming, etc, there is no recorded music available by the man. They can only be heard when he plays them live. In the last 18 months he has played more than 100 live shows in eight different countries.
Multi-instrumentalist, performer, composer and deft songwriter, Tom Portman plays Dobro, national, acoustic and electric guitar, and fiddle. With four solo albums to his name over the past decade his music ranges from the blues, to Irish melodies, through bluegrassm to Indian ragas. He has toured Europe, the USA and India.
