Gardaí are continuing their investigation into an alleged sexual assault that took place in a Galway town last week.
An alleged sexual assault of a woman that took place in a Galway town in the early hours of Sunday week is being investigated by Gardaí and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions in relation to the allegations.
Speaking last week a garda spokesperson confirmed that the allegations had been made and that a man had been arrested as part of the investigation but that he had been released without charge. He added that the name of the town and the age of the victim could not be released due to the nature of the allegations.
