PolyMath - a FEAST of densely layered math-rock

Brighton trio to play Róisín Dubh

POLYMATH, THE Brighton based math-rockers, known for densely layered, off kilter instrumentals, drawing from the heavier elements of early Battles, The Mars Volta, and ASIWYFA, play Galway tonight.

PolyMath play the latest FEAST presents show at the Róisín Dubh from 9pm. The trio, according to online magazine Fecking Bahamas, "has the dynamic depth and sonic precision found in the best post-rock, but without the boring predictability. It serves math-rock rhythms, but with subtlety...it’s because of bands like PolyMath that your stereo volume knob goes up to 10".

Also playing are Yonen, who apply a progressive approach to composing narrative driven, math music, infused with a love of romantic-era dynamics, and a weight of emotional intensity resting on every moment.

Support is from Onwards Upwards, a four-piece instrumental rock band from Galway. Admission is €5.
