AIMEE BANKS, the 14-year-old soprano who burst on to the international scene last year after representing Ireland at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, will give her debut Irish concert in Galway.
Aimee Banks will be in concert in the Galway Cathedral on Saturday October 1 at 8pm. The concert, which will be in aid of LauraLynn Children's Hospice, will see the singer accompanied by special guests Brendan McCarthy (tenor ) and the school choir of Scoil Mhuire, Moycullen, along with Colm Henry.
The Moycullen native is the winner of the Overall Vocalist Award and Bursary at Feis Ceoil 2015 (Midlands ) and 2016 (Sligo ) and Outstanding Achievement in Arts and Culture 2016 from Galway Roscommon Education and Training Board. She has performed at Carnegie Hall, New York and the National Concert Hall, Dublin. Aimee also performed at Boston Symphony Hall, the Norman Rockwell Museum, and the Whitney Centre for the Arts, Boston. She recently performed at the Rose of Tralee Festival and Gorey Market House Festival, alongside Nathan Carter, Paddy Casey, Hometown, and Seo Linn.
LauraLynn is Ireland's only children's hospice, providing palliative care and support for to children with life-limiting conditions and their families. Operating since 2011, LauraLynn has provided care and support to 280 children and their family members. All care is provided free to families because of public donations.
