TOMMY TIERNAN is set to perform an extra show in next month's Vodafone Comedy Carnival, as he has agreed to replace the contractually indisposed The Boy With Tape On His Face on Sunday October 30.
The America’s Got Talent finalist has had to withdraw from the Comedy Carnival due to Simon Cowell invoking the small print in Tape Face’s contract and insisting he performs in a series of Vegas shows. ‘The Boy’ was a huge hit on the show reaching the Top 10 last week and has racked up more than 40 million YouTube views of his initial audition. While organisers and fans are understandably disappointed, Tape Face has promised to return to Galway if not soon, then definitely in time for next year’s festival.
However this cloud has a very funny silver lining as Tommy Tiernan has kindly agreed to perform in Tape Face’s slot. As Tommy sold out his solo shows in jig time, this is an extra opportunity to catch Ireland’s favourite comedian perform a 25 minute set on a mixed bill with Better Call Saul's Joe DeRosa; Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee, Al Porter; Chortle Comedian of the Year 2014 Jamali Maddix; and Irish Mammies legend, Colm O'Regan.
In more breaking news, Andrew Maxwell has come on board to replace Tape Face on Saturday October 29 in the Black Box. This is a chance to see the Dublin born, Edinburgh Award nominee, on a bill including David O’Doherty; Live at the Apollo legend, Stephen K Amos; Father Ted star Joe Rooney; and Irish comedy Godfather, Barry Murphy.
