THE ANNUAL Galway Zombie Walk takes place this Saturday and is sure to have people looking on in amazement at the bizarre, yet thrilling, sight of hundreds of zombies making their way along Shop Street.
The walk is in aid of JIGSAW Galway, which offers free, non-judgmental, and confidential support services for young people (aged 15 to 25 ) in Galway city and county.
This is an all ages, family friendly, event. It starts at 6pm in Eyre Square where participants can get 'zombified' by a professional make-up artist for €5, or €2 for under-12s. All proceeds will go to JIGSAW and all organisers, performers, and make-up artists are volunteering for free. The walk starts at 7.45pm, proceeding down Shop Street towards Father Griffin Park. The walk ends with a fire performance and spectacle.
There will be an after party (over 18s ) at the Róisín Dubh at 9pm. All proceeds will again go to JIGSAW. The line-up for the after party is to be announced. Admission is €3 or free to those who have already donated at Eyre Square.
