SINCE RELEASING his Tribes EP in February, Daithí has pushed his music forward into new sonic, and indeed philosophic, territory, fully embracing his heritage and background, without ever compromising his music's energy and dancability.
Daithí will bring that music to the Electric Garden & Theatre tonight from 11pm, where he will be accompanied by vocalist Sinead White, who sang on the artist's recent single, 'Love’s On Top'.
“I came across Sinead last year," says Daithí, "and really loved how her voice had a unique 'Irish' quality to it, but at the same time felt very contemporary. It was a perfect match for 'Love's On Top', which was a track inspired by Galway city at night, especially the West End and around the Spanish Arch. It's a good snapshot of what the rest of the record is like."
Daithí has won notice and much acclaim for his imaginative music, which combines the use of the fiddle and Irish trad melodies with electronica, dance, and math-rock. He has supported Santigold, The XX, Macklemore, and DJ Shadow.
Tickets are €5. Guestlists available through the Uniphi Nights app. For more information see Electric Galway on Facebook.
