Short evening courses at NUI Galway

In association with NUIG Adult Learning

The Centre for Adult Learning and Professional Development offers a series of 8-week, non-accredited courses in a number of different subject areas including Archaeology, Writing, Drama, Film Studies, History, Art History, Languages, Health & Well Being, Literature & Poetry, Ecology & the Environment and many others.

“The courses are designed for students with an interest in the subjects on offer, but are equally suitable for those seeking an introduction to the area of accredited learning”, explains Course Coordinator, Berna Morgan.

“The course in English Literature gave me an opportunity to explore my interest in books and my love of reading. We had fantastic discussions about characters, plots and writing styles - much more than I ever expected”, highlights Jacinta, an enthusiastic learner from last year’s series. “I was given expert insight into the subject area and thoroughly enjoyed my experience of the world of lifelong learning”.

The short courses will begin the week of the 3rd October and are run over 8 weeks - one evening per week (7 to 9pm ).

Course Fees: €120. A discounted course fee of €85 is available for senior citizens and for students currently in receipt of social welfare support from the Department of Social Protection.
