Róisín Dubh Comedy Clubh to celebrate first birthday

Donal Vaughan and Aidan Greene, Jim Elliott, Dejan Djeric, and Ruth O’Kelly Hunter

IT HAS been a year since the Róisín Dubh Comedy Clubh opened its doors, and over that time, audiences have laughed long and aloud at Foil, Arms & Hog, Barry Murphy, Deirdre O'Kane, Abandoman, Colin Murphy, and Al Porter.

Shows take place in the upstairs bar, with larger events being held in the Róisín's downstairs venue. At the start of 2016, the night expanded with the creation of a regular showcase for up-and coming acts on Tuesdays - all of which are curated by clubh MC and musical comedian Steve Bennett.

To celebrate the Clubh turning one, it is presenting some of its favourite acts who have performed over the last year at it' birthday bash tomorrow evening from 8.30pm.

The line-up is Donal Vaughan and Aidan Greene, returning from successful runs at the Edinburgh fringe festival; Jim Elliott, an American with a unique perspective on everyday Irish life; Serbian comedian Dejan Djeric, and Ruth O’Kelly Hunter, who came second in this year’s So You Think You’re Funny competition, which has previously brought David O’Doherty and Tommy Tiernan to international fame.

Tickets are €8 in advance or €10 on the door from Róisín Dubh; OMG@Zhivago, Shop Street, and www.roisindubh.net
