The postman and the oracle

New exhibition by Brian Twomey and Kristy Verenga to open in Kinvara

THE WALK and The Sibyl, a joint exhibition by artists Brian Twomey and Kristy Verenga, will be officially opened today [Friday September 2] at 8pm, in The Courthouse, in Kinvara.

Verenga is a painter and installation artist; she lived, worked, and exhibited in New York and Barcelona, before coming to Ireland. Her work for The Sibyl uses the idea of oracle, alchemy, and prophesy, through painting, print, and a constructed three dimensional totem.

Brian Twomey is a graduate of GMIT who lives in Kinvara, where he works as a postman. He was a recipient of a 2015 Galway County Council arts bursary for a project based on his postal route. This show, The Walk, consists of paintings, drawings and photos inspired by a circular walk that he created on land where he lives.

The exhibition runs until September 10.
