WHEN HESTER Collyer is found by her neighbours in the aftermath of a failed suicide attempt, the story of her tempestuous affair with a former RAF pilot and breakdown of her marriage to a High Court judge emerges.
This is Terence Rattigan’s masterpiece The Deep Blue Sea, which is currently being staged by the National Theatre London, and which is being broadcast to The Eye Cinema, Wellpark, this evening at 7pm. Starring Tom Burke (The Musketeers ) and directed by Carrie Cracknell, the play is an examination of need, loneliness, and long-repressed passion.
