Anna Span, Britain’s first female porn director, will address NUI Galway’s Literary and Debating Society tonight.
Ms Span will be taking part in the society’s motion Is Porn Morally Repugnant? in the university’s Kirwan Theatre at 7pm.
Since 1998 Ms Span has run her own production company, Easy on the Eye productions, which also releases work of other female porn directors that she has trained.
The porn industry, grossing between $2.6 billion and $3.9 billion annually, provides employment while providing some with entertainment, yet is frequently frowned upon. In the debate, the reasons for this are set to be explored.
