THE POET Kevin Higgins will give a series of poetry workshops, for different levels of experience, at the Galway Arts Centre, starting in September.
Workshops for complete beginners take place on Tuesdays (7pm-8.30pm ) starting September 20, and Thursdays (2pm-4pm ) starting September 22. The Advanced Poetry Workshop, suitable for those who have participated in poetry workshops before or had poems published, is on Fridays (2pm-3.30pm ), starting September 23. Each workshop runs for 10 weeks.
Kevin, called “likely the most widely read living poet in Ireland” by The Stinging Fly, is the author of the poetry collections, The Boy With No Face (2006 ), Time Gentlemen, Please (2008 ), Frightening New Furniture (2010 ), and The Ghost in the Lobby (2014 ), all published by Salmon. His most recent book 2016 – The Selected Satires of Kevin Higgins was published by NuaScéalta earlier this year.
