Star of Briget and Eammon and Republic of Telly to play Dominick Street venue

HE PLAYS the Father Gabriel on the hit RTÉ series Briget and Eammon, he is a regular on Republic of Telly, and he is also accomplished stand-up comedian. He is Edwin Sammon.

Edwin Sammon plays the Róisín Dubh Comedy Clubh tomorrow at 9pm. The Offaly native has been described by Chorlte.co.uk as possessing "conviction and likeability", and whose comedy takes "familiar starting points and spinning them out into fantastical extremes”. He was a finalist on RTÉ’s New Comedy Awards and has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe, Electric Picnic, and the Vodafone Comedy Festival Dublin.

Support is from boisterous Cork comedian Alan Hurley. He wowed international audiences while living in New Zealand, playing the NZ International Comedy Festival and winning the NZ Comedy Guild Award for Best Newcomer. Recently returned to Ireland, he appeared on the RTÉ New Comedy Awards and the Vodafone Comedy Festival.
