Mervue Lunch Club is thinking ahead with workshop

How many times have you talked about planning for your later years but never get around to doing anything about it?

Mervue Lunch Club is holding a “Think Ahead” workshop on Thursday, July 21 at St. James’ GAA Hall in Mervue to guide members of the public in discussing and recording their personal preferences in the event of emergency, serious illness or death.

Martina Cunningham, Lead Community Worker, Sonas Day Centre in Mervue explains:

“What if a day comes when you are unable to make decisions for yourself? Do your closest family members or friends really know your wishes? The aim of ‘Think Ahead’, which was designed by the Irish Hospice Foundation, is to guide and assist adults who are well, in thinking about, discussing and recording their preferences regarding all aspects of their later years from medical care preferences to making wills.

“It’s something we’ve all said we must do someday, but now’s our chance to actually prepare in a meaningful way!”

The workshop takes place from 2pm at Mervue Lunch Club, St. James’ Hall, Mervue on Thursday, 21st July 21. All are welcome.
