Sammy J & Randy - tomfoolery, songs, and filth

Aussie duo to play Róisín Dubh as part of Galway International Arts Festival

AUSTRALIA'S FAVOURITE skinny man and purple puppet, Sammy J & Randy, are heading to Galway armed with nothing but a keyboard and a suitcase full of songs, plus undies, toothpaste, and international adaptor plugs, but mostly, songs.

Sammy J and Randy, the duo described by the Adelaide Advertiser as the "comedic marriage made in heaven" of a "perverted purple puppet [and] skinny virgin bastard", make their Galway debut at the Róisín Dubh on Tuesday July 19 at 8pm as part of the Galway International Arts Festival.

Combining catchy songs with chaotic tomfoolery and outbursts of filth, Sammy J and Randy have an uncanny knack of charming the pants off everyone they meet.

In 2015, the duo racked up accolades around the world, from being handpicked to star in Neil Patrick Harris’ Just For Laughs TV Gala in Montreal, to performing at the Sydney Opera House, to having their comedy special, Sammy J & Randy: Live nominated for an ARIA for best Comedy Release. They also wrote and performed in their debut TV sitcom, Sammy J & Randy, and were nominated for Best Comedy in the 2015 AACTA awards.

The special guest is the "childlike and cheeky" BAFTA-nominated Spencer Jones, who is making his Galway debut. He enjoyed a sell-out run at London’s Soho Theatre and won acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe.

The MC is Karl Spain. Tickets are available from OMG@Zhivago, Shop Street; Roisin Dubh; roisindubh.net; the Galway International Arts festival box office, and www.giaf.ie
