Guests of honour

Roscommon's All-Ireland U21 football champions of 1966 are guests of honour at the 2016 Connacht senior and minor finals in Pearse Stadium on Sunday.

The “Jubilee” team, led by captain Colm Shine, will be introduced to the crowd at a ceremony after the minor game and before the senior final.

Roscommon beat Kildare to become the first holders of the Clarke Cup, having enjoyed wins over Galway, Leitrim and Mayo to become Connacht Champions and then victory over Donegal and Kildare to take the All Ireland crown.

Of the playing squad Pat Reynolds, Dermot Earley, Marty Cummins and Jerome Dufficy are all deceased, but they will be represented by family members on the day.

Substitute Mark O’Gara (St Croan’s ).
