AFTER A seven-year break from stand-up, during which she had babies, made a movie in Vietnam, and became the mother of Moone Boy, Deirdre O’Kane returns with a new show. She is older, but is she wiser?
Deirdre plays the Róisín Dubh Comedy Clubh tomorrow at 8.30pm, performing her new show 1DEE where she explores what has she learned from being a stay at home mum, achieving the glory of middle-age, and chasing after collagen as it attempts to leave her life forever.
She has appeared in the films Intermission and Noble and RTÉ’s The Lounge and Paths to Freedom. She has gigged all over the world, from Melbourne to Shanghai to the Middle East. The Guardian commended her “unique star quality” while Chortle.co.uk praised her “delightful charm and wit”.
Support is from Chris Kent, who The List said "breathes new life into anecdotal comedy". The MC is Steve Bennett. Tickets are available at www.roisindubh.net, the Ticket Desk at OMG Zhivago, Shop Street, and The Róisín Dubh.
