ConTempo to play Galway's castles

Quartet to give concerts in Athenry, Porumna, and Claregalway this weekend

ATHENRY, PORTUMNA, and Claregalway castles will be the setting for a series of concerts from the ConTempo Quartet, all of which take place this weekend.

Music in Castles will see ConTempor play Portumna Castle, built between 1610 and 1618 tomorrow from 7pm; in the 15th century Anglo-Norman Claregalway Castle on Saturday at 8pm; and the 13th century Athenry Castle on Sunday at 5pm. The concert programmes will feature Mozart, Haydn, Borodin, Mendelssohn, Dvorák, and Irish composer David Flynn.

Tickets for Portumna and Athenry are €15/12 while the Claregalway concert is €18/15, and are available through eventbrite.ie or on the door.
