Fundraising Concert for Thoor Ballylee

As part of its drive to fund the continued opening of Thoor Ballylee, the Yeats Thoor Ballylee Society hosts “Yeats’ Women “ an evening of music, poetry and drama in Thoor Ballylee on Friday July 8 at 8pm.

In this production, performed by a professional Dublin group, Glynis Casson leads a cast of three in a gentle and sympathetic account of Yeats’ life and the women who supported, influenced, and inspired him.

Glynis Casson and actor Daniel Costello narrate Yeats’ story and illustrate it with his beautiful poetry. Ms Casson wrote and directed “Yeats’ Women” She comes from the well known theatrical Casson family — her father was Christopher Casson who played the Canon in The Riordans for many years and was a well known actor in The Gate Theatre Dublin.

She is the granddaughter of Dame Sybil Thorndike and Lewis Casson. The audience will also be treated to some of Yeats’ poetry set to original music by gifted international harpist and singer Claire Roche.
