Monday is Funday at St Pats

One of Galway’s best known schools, St Pats on Lombard Street is bringing a little colour and fun into Monday. The school will host Monday Funday on June 20. St Pats, The Happy School has been the school of choice for generations of Galway boys.

The fun kicks off at 12noon, when the school yard will come even more alive than usual with slides, bouncy castles and an obstacle course. There will be face-painting, balloons and all kinds of games and activities, ice cream and a barbecue. All primary school pupils are welcome to attend but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. As part of Monday Funday, the school will also be taking enrolments on the day.

The Active Flag, awarded during the year, for the promotion of an active lifestyle among the pupils, will be raised for the first time and ‘Pat’s Chat’ the school annual magazine, which is edited and produced every year by the pupils will be officially launched on the day.

The evening will celebrate the class of 2015 with a Graduation Ceremony and Mass at 7.30pm. “St Pats is a school of excellence. It is a happy, safe, nurturing environment. It gives its pupils the best possible start in life and a solid educational foundation on which to build as they go on to Secondary school. Most will transfer automatically to our sister School St Joseph’s, The Bish. Many will go on to distinguished careers in areas, such as public life, business, sport, the arts, medicine and engineering,” explained Fintan Coughlan Vice Principal St Pats School.
