Gardai are investigating a number of burglaries around the city and county this week.
Treat Cafe in Claregalway was broken in to between Saturday evening June 11 and Sunday morning June 12. The offenders entered via a basement door.
The cafe was ransacked and quite a large amount of cash taken, in the form of a till float and coins. Anybody with information on this please contact Galway Garda Station where Garda Shane Travers is investigating the incident.
Between Friday morning June 10 and Sunday evening June 12, a house in the Carn Ard estate on the Circular Road was broken in to. Entry was gained through a side window; this and other property was damaged during the Burglary, which would have created considerable noise. Anybody who witnessed suspect behaviour in the area is asked to contact Galway Gardai, Garda Lynda Woodman is investigating the incident.
Gardai say they want to to advise business owners and indeed home owners not to keep large amounts of cash on their premises where possible. Any cash should be safely lodged to a financial institution.
