Trad session for teens @ Fórioge Youth Café

UILLEANN PIPER Mick Carr, his fiddle playing daughter Aoife Carr, and Niall McQuaid on the bodhrán, play the final gig of the Galway Youth Arts Alliance Show Up and Show Off series at the Fóroige Youth Cafe, Fairgreen, this Saturday.

Carr was born in London to Irish parents from Connemara and Fermanagh. His uncle Paddy Folan was a highly regarded accordion player, while a cousin is fiddler John Carty of At The Racket. Aoife is a graduate of the World Music Centre at the University of Limerick. Glasgowman Niall is recognised as one of the leading exponents of bodhrán playing in Ireland today.

The show is part of the 2016 Galway Sessions festival and begins with a one hour open mic session at 7pm. Young people are welcome to perform in the art form or musical genre of their choice. The gig begins at 8pm.
