STRAIGHT OUTTA Connemara, Páraic Breathnach's stand-up comedy show, is coming to The Ruby Room in The King's Head, for a series of four lunchtime dates next week.
This will be a new version of Páraic's show, based on his life growing up in South Connamara, the trials of fitting into the English speaking world, and of living in a State dominated by the church, 'respectable' politicians, and entrenched conservatism, yet along the way, finding humour and laughter even in the most miserable circumstances.
The show is "streamlined into 45 intense minutes of stories, yarns and caustic comments," says Páraic, who adds that it is "not suitable for children or people of sensitive disposition".
Straight Outta Connamara runs from Wednesday June 22 to Saturday 25, starting 1.10 pm. Tickets are €10/8 and early arrival is advised.
