FOR A certain generation, and a certain audience Brendan Shine is a legend for songs like 'Do You Want Your Auld Lobby Washed Down' and 'I'm A Savage For Bacon and Cabbage'.
Yet the veteran Irish entertainer became a social media, particularly on Twitter, phenomenon, trending widely, when, in late 2014, X Factor presenter Dermot O'Leary named Shine's 'Catch Me If You Can' as one of his favourite songs in his memoir The Soundtrack To My Life.
With this new lease of life, Brendan Shine plays the Town Hall Theatre on Friday June 17 at 8pm as part of The Lobby Tour - A Celebration of 37 years of Brendan Shine washing his ould lobby down.
Shine has released more than 50 albums and has had 45 hit singles. He has played Carnegie Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, and The National Concert Hall, and performed for Pope John Paul II on his 1979 visit to Ireland.
Tickets are available from the Town Hall on 091 - 569777 or www.tht.ie
