RYAN SHERIDAN has come a long way since his days in Riverdance, performing in Broadway, and later working as a barman in his native Monaghan to the point where he now enjoys hit albums in Ireland and abroad.
It was during his time as a bartender, watching local musicans play live at the bar where he worked, where he became convinced it was time he did the same and bring his songs to wider attention.
Ryan began busking in Dublin where he attracted large crowds. This led to his single 'Jigsaw' which gained him national attention. His debut album, The Day You Live Forever, was released in 2011 and achieved platinum status in Ireland. The album and his live shows also displayed his percussive guitar style, commanding stage presence, and passionate songwriting.
The following year saw deals with Universal Music in Europe and Australia, with The Day You Live Forever reaching No 1 in Germany. In 2014 he provided the song 'Home' for Brendan O’Carroll's Mrs Brown’s Boys: D’Movie. In 2015, Sheridan released his second album, Here And Now, which went straight to No 1 in the Irish charts.
Ryan Sheridan plays the Róisín Dubh on Friday June 10 at 9pm. Tickets are available at www.roisindubh.net, the Ticket Desk at OMG Zhivago, Shop Street, and The Róisín Dubh.
