Three sheltered housing units approved for the city

The Galway City Council has approved loans of just under €400,000 for the provision of three sheltered housing units on the east side of the city.

The funding, which will be in mortgage loans totalling €394,520, will be used by Cluid Housing Association for the purchase of three apartments in Doughiska and the Headford Road.

The units will allow Cluid to provide accommodation to people with a sheltered housing need, in association with COPE Galway and Galway Simon Community. The local authority provides loans for sheltered housing projects under the Capital Assistance Scheme with finance from the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government.
