GERRY MCAVOY and Ted McKenna, both members of Rory Gallagher's band, will join forces for a concert in Galway next month, to perform and celebrate Rory's music.
McAvoy and McKenna, who was also a member of The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, will be joined by Dutch guitarist and vocalist Marcel Scherpenzeel, as Band of Friends for A Celebration of the Music of Rory Gallagher in Monroe’s Live on Friday June 3 at 9pm.
Bassist McAvoy was a constant presence in Rory's solo career. He was joined by drummer McKenna from 1977 to 1981, appearing on the albums Photo-Finish, Top Priority, and Stage Struck.
