The landmark Bank of Ireland building at 43 Eyre Square has been sold for in excess of €10.5 million.
The Irish Times reported this week that the building was sold to a private investor. It is understood the building guided at €10.5 million and sold for more than this.
Bank of Ireland occupies the building under a 25-year lease from November 2006 and will continue to be a tenant in the property. It is understood the bank currently pays €663,555 in rent annually for the premises.
The front of the building, which was constructed in the 1830s, is a protected structure. The premises also contain a four-storey modern extension to the rear, opening on to Rosemary Avenue.
The property was offered for sale by public tender in December.
