QUINN IS a desperate man in a situation he can’t control. There’s a woman, a fat man with alarmingly high-waisted trousers, and all around is the subtle whiff of violence. This is film noir - not for the screen, but for the stage.
This is Score, a new theatre show from the company Breach & Quinn - Alan Howley (performer and writer, best known as Eoghan O’Brien in RTÉ’s Fair City ) and Jack Cawley (composer and sound artist ), accompanied by Kevin McGee (drummer and writer ). An atmospheric homage to film noir, with original music played live throughout the show, it will also feature a 'mystery guest' as female lead, Lena.
It will be performed in the Nuns Island Theatre this Saturday (9pm ) and Sunday (6pm and 9pm ), as part of the Galway Theatre Festival. Tickets are available through galwaytheatregestival.com and the Town Hall Theatre (091 - 569777, www.tht.ie ).
